Other Ingredients & Equipment You’ll Need: Witch Hazel, Isopropyl Alcohol, Gloves, Mixing Bowls (2), Mixing Spoon, Scale, Paint Brush, Gloves, Pans (for double boiler)
Directions:
- Prepare your jokes. These jokes will be inside the bath bomb and will be released when the bath bomb is activated. On a small piece of paper, write or type three jokes. Fold the paper up and place each one in its own 2″x3″ bag. Set aside.
- This recipe is best prepared in non-humid climates. Prior to making this recipe, pour some of your witch hazel into your spray bottle in order to have this ready.
- Weigh out your dry ingredients. In a mixing bowl, weigh out 340 grams baking soda, 170 grams citric acid, 80 grams cornstarch, and 2 grams Summer Sunshine Shimmer Fragrance Oil. Break up any clumps in the mixture and blend completely. Optionally, you can run the ingredients through a sifter. Set aside for now.
- Use a double boiler to melt your 12 grams of cocoa butter.
- In a small bowl, weigh out 8 grams Joke’s on You Fragrance Oil and 8 grams Polysorbate 80. Add the melted cocoa butter. Stir.
- Add your wet ingredients to the bowl containing the dry ingredients. With gloved hands mix thoroughly.
- Begin spraying your mixture with witch hazel and mix. Repeat this process until you have a wet sand consistency.
- Now we will begin filling the mold. Fill the mold about 1/3 full. Then, place one of your jokes inside and continue to fill. Pack each mold tightly, pressing the mixture into the mold as you fill.
- Allow the bath bombs to set up before removing them from the mold. We allowed ours to set up overnight.
- Next, we will paint smiley faces on our bath bombs. In your small mixing bowl add 1 gram of the Onxy Sparkle Mica and 2 tsp of the rubbing alcohol. Stir. You are looking for a paint-like consistency. If you find the mixture too fluid, you can let some of the alcohol evaporate or add more of the Onyx Sparkle. If it is too thick, add more alcohol.
- Paint a smiley face on each bath bomb. Once dry, your bath bomb is ready to use!
